Thanks very much for subscribing to Mind Matters, the newsletter that turns brain research into practical leadership tools. This issue is only 271 words and takes less than 2 minutes to read.

Later in "News & Resources," a link to a free coaching call in April and a book of on-the-job mindfulness exercises.

============================================

I’ve created a video series called How Seven Leaders Stopped Making these Seven Brain-based Mistakes during Accountability Conversations. The videos describe how seven of my coaching clients increased their effectiveness in a conversation with a direct report, colleague, or their boss.

The second brain-based mistake video is now online: Forgetting the goal. The video is only 4:41 minutes. I hope you find it helpful. Let me know if you have questions or comments about the video.

News and Resources:

  • To introduce my new Calm Leader Group Coaching program that begins in May, I’m offering three free introductory teleclasses. Register for the free call on Wednesday, April 20th. So that more of you can participate, I shortened this call to 20 minutes. The topic is "Focus on your goal in a challenging conversation." I’ll share specific tools on how to keep your mind and the conversation focused on your goal even when another person is vigorously trying to change the subject.

  • Brantley Jeffrey and Wendy Millstine are the authors of the Five Good Minutes(tm) series. Each of the 100 mindfulness exercises and visualizations in this book will help you relax and focus on the job in five minutes.Five Good Minutes at Work: 100 Mindful Practices to Help You Relieve Stress & Bring Your Best to Work
