============================================

Thanks very much for subscribing to Mind Matters, the newsletter that turns brain research into practical leadership tools. This issue is only 150 words and takes less than 2 minutes to read.

Later in "News & Resources," a link to a free coaching call in March.

============================================

My book, Coaching the Mind to Lead: Cultivating Calm, Confident Power, will be out this year. To introduce you to some of the material in the book, I’ve created a video series called “How Seven Leaders Stopped Making these Seven Brain-based Mistakes during Accountability Conversations.” The videos describe how seven of my coaching clients increased their effectiveness in a conversation with a direct report, colleague, or their boss.

The first brain-based mistake is Stuck in negativity. The video is only 4:04 minutes. I hope you find it helpful. Let me know if you like the video format or not.

News and Resources:

  • To introduce my new Calm Leader Group Coaching program that begins in May, I’ll be offering three free introductory classes. Register for the first free call on March 16; I’ll share specific tools on how to shift out of the brain’s naturally negative narrative into the present moment.

  • Have you ever felt like you figured something out before the experts did? Jonah Lehrer wrote an elegant book on how eight artists made discoveries about the brain decades before scientists. For example, Proust knew that memory is a process, not a repository. Get the neuroscientific back story on Walt Whitman, George Elliott, Escoffier, and more in Proust Was a Neuroscientist.

Best wishes,

Suzanne
